Dr. Ajay Purohit DTCM, MPH

Educational and Professional Background
 

Dr. Purohit attained his Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from the prestigious Five Branches University. Due to this Doctoral program emphasizing integrating the role of a TCM practitioner in the Western medical system, Dr. Purohit is better able to partner with Western clinicians in treating patients. He pursued his base education in Chinese Medicine at the Florida College of Integrative Medicine, where he graduated with honors.

After graduating from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine, Dr. Purohit took and passed all portions of the National Board Exams and, thus, is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

 

Dr. Purohit attended Tulane University, where he graduated Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Psychology. He graduated with honors and received a Master in Public Health degree (MPH) in Health Systems Management, from the Tulane School for Public Health. Dr. Purohit solidified his interest in Chinese Medicine in this Master's degree program. 


Dr. Purohit did attend Louisiana State University Medical School for the purpose of attaining a Doctorate in Medicine (MD) degree. However, due to his interest in Eastern Medicine, he decided to leave and pursue studies in Chinese Medicine.
