The post COVID world continues to present us with obstacles that we never encountered before. I’m not talking about just in terms of healthcare. I see a world that is being turned upside down. My freedoms are continually being restricted and the access I have to my most cherished activities are being terminated.

Am I the only one to feel this way? Obviously not. However, when any person’s inner circular world is being attacked, he can only react in some way. This has been happening throughout time and the existence of man. There are some who believe that major events in history, such as the COVID virus, are created to alter or condition of man’s way of life.

You maybe thinking what kind of alterations? For one, as I stated at the beginning, think about how your daily life has changed. In many states, you are mandated to wear a mask when enter a public facility. I am noticing that people are being conditioned to wearing a mask that they feel naked when they don’t have one on. This is an example of changing the way the greater society functions.

Clinicians, like myself, are undergoing such a process of conditioning. When I now treat a patient, I have to wear a mask and check the patient’s temperature etc… I have a whole new set of regulations that I must abide by in order to practice my medicine. I don’t see these regulations being reversed. I am now practicing in a very different manner than I did just a few months ago.

What this example of the current conditioning we are all going through shows is just how “malleable” our existential existence really is. We are simply creatures living according to a set of fabricated norms. Now, who sets these norms? That’s for another discussion.
